THE MISSION OF THE FIFTH ANNUAL Jewish Food Media Conference (formerly known as the Kosher Food Bloggers Conference) is to educate social media influencers, food bloggers, instagrammers, chefs, cookbook authors, food writers, brand owners, photographers --anyone in the professional food industry-- on how to enhance the value of their brands. The Conference programming is designed to enhance industry education in the arenas of social media, photography, writing, branding, marketing, and technology in our current environment. This year, we are partnering with Masbia, a nonprofit soup kitchen network and food pantry, to bring awareness to hunger and food instability in the jewish community. The Jewish Food Media Conference is open to bloggers and professionals in the kosher food industry. Exclusive group of 75-100 will attend.

Gil Hovav

Gil Hovav

Gil Hovav, Israel's leading culinary journalist and television personality, comes from one of the most respected lineages in the Jewish world: he is the great-grandson of Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the reviver of the Hebrew language; the grandson of Itamar Ben-Avi, who began modern Hebrew journalism; and the son of Moshe & Drora Hovav, "founding members" of Israel's modern day public radio. Gil himself, with his illustrious career in journalism, publishing, television and as an author, has played a major role in the revival of Israeli cuisine and the change Israel has undergone in recent years, from a country of basic traditional foods into a "gourmet nation". After four years of army service at the Israeli Intelligence and graduation of the Hebrew University (French literature and General studies), Gil began his career as a restaurant critic at the age of 24, moved on to become an editor in Israel's leading newspaper, and was involved in the creation, as producer and presenter, in some of Israel's most viewed and loved television cooking and food shows. As an author, Gil has published three best-selling novels, all related in different ways, to his family's colorful history, exposing with humor and emotion a Jerusalem of his childhood that no longer exists. The fourth, titled "Twenty Four Doors", was published in April 2015 and hit the top of the national bestseller list. Nowadays, Gil is busy with his publishing and production company - Toad Communications and with his weekly radio show about restaurants in Israel . His latest 20 episode tv series, "Food for Thought" included 20 interviews with Nobel laureates, including John Nash, Elie Wiesel, Daniel Kahneman, Eric Kandel and many others.

Paula Shoyer

Paula Shoyer, “the kosher baker,” is the author of The Holiday Kosher Baker (Sterling 2013), The Kosher Baker (Brandeis 2010), The New Passover Menu (Sterling 2015) and The Healthy Jewish Kitchen (Sterling Epicure, November 2017). Paula graduated with a pastry degree from the Ritz Escoffier in Paris, and does cooking and baking demos across the United States and around the world. She is recipe developer and tester, cookbook editor and a freelance writer for many publications. Paula competed on Food Network's Sweet Genius and appears on TV before Jewish holidays – over 26 times. In 2015, Paula was honored by Jewish Women International as a “Woman to Watch” and in 2016 as a “kosher food pioneer” by the kosher food media community. Elie Rosenfeld

Elie Rosenfeld is the CEO Joseph Jacobs Advertising. With more than 20 years of experience in advertising and marketing, Elie Rosenfeld is one of the leading experts in marketing strategy and communications for the American Jewish market. After receiving a communications degree from Brooklyn College, Elie worked for Royal Wine/Kedem’s advertising department and created Kedem’s in-house ad agency, Kent Advertising. In 1996, Elie joined the historic Joseph Jacobs Advertising agency and in 2003 acquired the firm and became its CEO. JJA works in a variety of sectors, targeting the American Jewish consumer market. KosherFEAST 2017 A Night at the Museum

Register for the 7th Annual pre-Kosherfest Media Dinner planned for 6:00pm until 9pm at The Jewish Children's Museum in Brooklyn, New York following the Jewish Food Media Conference. Food writers, culinary editors, media personalities, food influencers, recipe developers, chefs, cookbook authors and food brand professionals are invited to attend.

Special Masbia Volunteer Activity

Join Us In Preparing Food Packages

Join us from 5pm-6pm for a special volunteer opportunity with Masbia, also at The Jewish Children's Museum. Masbia is a nonprofit soup kitchen network and food pantry, everyday providing hot, nutritious meals for hundreds of New Yorkers in desperate need of food. Learn about their unique programs from their founder and director, Alex Rapaport. A portion of the proceeds from KosherFEAST will go towards the Masbia programming.
